We Are the Landscape - Kurt Stallaert (BE, 1969)
17 January - 21 February 2027
NL De solotentoonstelling We Are the Landscape van Kurt Stallaert brengt eerder werk samen met recent gecreëerde beelden.
EN The solo exhibition We Are the Landscape by Kurt Stallaert brings together a selection of earlier works and newly created images. By placing different periods of his practice in dialogue, the exhibition reveals both the continuity and evolution of his artistic vision. Recurring ideas surrounding humanity, identity, nature, and our connection to the world are revisited from a new perspective. For the new body of work, Stallaert spent several days in the mountains, immersing himself in the landscape and patiently waiting for light, weather, and atmosphere to converge at precisely the right moment. This slow and attentive process became an essential part of the work, allowing each image to emerge from a genuine encounter with the environment rather than from a predetermined composition. The landscape is therefore not presented merely as a backdrop, but as a living presence—something we inhabit, influence, remember, and ultimately form part of.
