FR Dans Au-dehors, Au contraire Julie Calbert déploie une installation pensée comme un refuge sensible : un contre-espace où le geste et la matière produisent leur propre lumière, en tension avec l’indéfini du dehors.Présentée au Tipi bookshop, l’exposition fait se rencontrer le geste et le paysage dans la matière sculptée. Chaque pièce conserve les traces de sa fabrication : mains, frottements, transferts. Ces empreintes prolongent le corps dans l’image et rendent visible une action qui ne s’efface pas, mais persiste.L’artiste compose avec des formes naturelles ou accidentelles, laissant la matière dialoguer avec l’idée de paysage. L’image devient alors un lieu d’expérience : un espace actif, où le toucher, la surface et la lumière restent perceptibles.Conçue pour le dispositif de la vitrine, l’installation se découvre depuis deux côtés. Visible depuis l’extérieur comme depuis l’intérieur, elle propose une perception en aller-retour : selon la position du regard, les pièces se lisent autrement, entre approche et distance, présence et seuil.

NL In Au-dehors, Au contraire ontvouwt Julie Calbert een installatie die is opgevat als een gevoelig toevluchtsoord: een tegenruimte waarin gebaar en materiaal hun eigen licht voortbrengen, in spanning met het onbepaalde van de buitenwereld. De tentoonstelling, gepresenteerd in Tipi Bookshop, brengt gebaar en landschap samen in de gesculpteerde materie. Elk werk bewaart de sporen van zijn totstandkoming: handen, wrijvingen, overdrachten. Deze afdrukken verlengen het lichaam in het beeld en maken een handeling zichtbaar die niet verdwijnt, maar blijft voortbestaan. De kunstenaar werkt met natuurlijke of toevallige vormen en laat het materiaal in dialoog treden met het idee van landschap. Het beeld wordt zo een ervaringsplek: een actieve ruimte waarin aanraking, oppervlak en licht voelbaar blijven. De installatie is ontworpen voor het etalageraam en kan van twee kanten worden ontdekt. Zichtbaar van buitenaf én van binnenuit, nodigt zij uit tot een heen-en-weergaande waarneming: afhankelijk van de positie van de blik worden de werken anders gelezen, tussen nabijheid en afstand, aanwezigheid en drempel.

EN In Au-dehors, Au contraire, Julie Calbert unfolds an installation conceived as a sensitive refuge: a counter-space in which gesture and material generate their own light, held in tension with the indeterminacy of the outside. Presented at Tipi Bookshop, the exhibition brings gesture and landscape together within sculpted matter. Each piece retains the traces of its making—hands, frictions, transfers. These imprints extend the body into the image and make visible an action that does not fade, but persists. The artist works with natural or accidental forms, allowing material to enter into dialogue with the idea of landscape. The image thus becomes a site of experience: an active space where touch, surface, and light remain perceptible. Designed for the storefront display, the installation is discovered from two sides. Visible both from outside and from within, it offers a back-and-forth perception: depending on the viewer’s position, the works are read differently, oscillating between approach and distance, presence and threshold.
