Floral perspectives - Antoine Neufmars (FR, ?)

FR « Être une fleur est une profonde responsabilité », écrit Emily Dickinson en 1865. Cette pensée ouvre Floral Perspectives, une série photographique d’Antoine Neufmars consacrée aux flores spontanées des friches urbaines. Dans ces territoires délaissés, le photographe cherche à décentrer le regard humain, jusqu’à approcher symboliquement la perspective du pollinisateur. Changer d’échelle permet d’entrer en contact avec la fleur, pas seulement comme motif, plutôt comme une présence, un monde esthétique singulier. Entre enquête de terrain et expérimentation plastique, sa démarche fait dialoguer photographie et pictorialité. La plastique florale, ses textures, ses tonalités, ses volumes rencontrent le flou, les vibrations de la couleur et la chimie de la pellicule. De cette rencontre naît une émotion texturée, une douceur où l’observation du réel glisse vers l’hallucination chromatique. Floral Perspectives cherche ainsi à transformer notre manière de voir : porter attention aux formes de vie qui échappent à notre contrôle et reconnaître, dans les marges urbaines, la puissance sensible et indisciplinée du monde végétal.

Deze gedachte vormt het uitgangspunt van Floral Perspectives, een fotoserie van Antoine Neufmars gewijd aan de wilde bloemen op stedelijke braakliggende terreinen. In deze verwaarloosde gebieden tracht de fotograaf de menselijke blik te verleggen, totdat hij symbolisch het perspectief van de pollinator benadert. Door van schaal te veranderen ontstaat er contact met de bloem, niet alleen als motief, maar veeleer als een aanwezigheid, een unieke esthetische wereld. Zijn aanpak, die het midden houdt tussen veldonderzoek en plastisch experiment, brengt fotografie en picturaliteit met elkaar in dialoog. De vormgeving van de bloem, haar texturen, tinten en volumes ontmoeten de onscherpte, de trillingen van de kleur en de chemie van de pellicule. Uit deze ontmoeting ontstaat een emotie vol textuur, een zachtheid waarin de waarneming van de werkelijkheid overgaat in een chromatische hallucinatie. Floral Perspectives streeft er zo naar onze manier van kijken te transformeren: aandacht schenken aan levensvormen die aan onze controle ontsnappen en in de stedelijke marges de gevoelige en ongetemde kracht van de plantenwereld erkennen.

This thought opens Floral Perspectives, a photographic series by Antoine Neufmars dedicated to the wildflowers of urban wastelands. In these neglected areas, the photographer seeks to shift the human perspective, symbolically approaching that of the pollinator. Changing the scale allows for a connection with the flower, not merely as a subject, but rather as a presence, a unique aesthetic world. Somewhere between field research and artistic experimentation, his approach creates a dialogue between photography and pictorial art. The floral form, its textures, tones, and volumes meets blur, the vibrations of color, and the chemistry of the negative. From this encounter emerges a textured emotion, a gentleness in which the observation of reality slips into chromatic hallucination. Floral Perspectives thus seeks to transform the way we see: to draw attention to forms of life beyond our control and to recognize, on the urban edges, the sensitive and unruly power of the plant world.
