Mobile Home - Philippe Romain
22 January - 21 February 2027
Brussel, Tokio, Athene, Helsinki of elders.
EN Palco Art & Café brings together specialty coffee and artistic discoveries within the Wolvesperges Art & Furniture gallery. It is in this setting that Philippe Romain presents Mobile Home. Brussels, Tokyo, Athens, Helsinki or elsewhere. For five years, he photographed whatever crossed his path, without a plan or a particular subject, yet with the feeling that he was searching for something. Gradually, an intuition emerged about our strange relationship with places and belonging. We can feel at home somewhere we have never been, yet like strangers in familiar places. Mobile Home explores this mystery: perhaps home is not a fixed point on a map. Perhaps our roots are merely fragile threads branching out endlessly. Philippe Romain spent thirty-five years working with images and words in advertising. He loves photographs that catch the eye and suggest the start of a story. Today, he photographs freely and instinctively, without commissions. He lives in Brussels.
