EN De faire si peu de bruit brings together four artists around the figure of the ghost. Rather than offering a single, unequivocal interpretation, their distinct approaches reveal different ways of invoking what persists, disappears, returns or eludes our gaze. In Stéphanie Roland’s work, the image seeks to approach invisible realities, phenomena and temporalities that exceed the limits of our perception. Margot Jourquin, in turn, directly confronts the presence of the dead and the rituals that surround them. Lucie Pastureau explores another threshold: the passage from one state to another. Her work transforms the photographic print into a sensitive space where what emerges seems, at the same time, to elude us. Le Petit Bureau des Archives (Pauline Caplet) works with vernacular, anonymous and family photographs. These found images are brought back into circulation, giving rise to new narratives. Through a variety of forms — photographic prints, books, archives and installations — these four artistic propositions converge around what haunts the image: a presence, an absence, a memory that remains without ever fully allowing itself to be grasped. The exhibition will be extended through interventions by students from ESA Saint-Luc Brussels. Invited to engage with the artworks, they will also transform the exhibition into a space for experimentation and activation. De faire si peu de bruit is conceived in dialogue with Ghost Song, an exhibition at L’Enfant Sauvage curated by Pauline Caplet, Marie Sordat and Marie Papazoglou.
