Ghost Song - Group show
15 January - 25 April 2027
EN For 200 years, we have been "writing with light" — a concept that is being put to the test today. Yet, one figure — discreet, persistent, and enduring — has haunted the history of imagery from its very inception: the ghost. Spectral presences, fleeting apparitions, and intangible, subtle figures weave through the history of photography in a multitude of forms. This exhibition seeks to forge new connections between images of diverse origins, charting a path through the history of visual representation viewed through the prism of the invisible. The invisible in photography? A curious angle, perhaps — hidden beneath the surface of the most iconic, the oldest, the most intimate, and even the most innovative works. Ghosts, in their own way, beckon to us: whether concealed beneath a sheet, emerging from a tear in the paper, caught within a chaotic jumble of pixels, or appearing in the sudden flash of an AI prompt — they manifest themselves, provided we are willing to believe in them. Featuring: Laurence Aëgerter, Russel Kirch, Daisuke Yokota, Joan Fontcuberta, Sarah Jackson, Stéphanie Roland, Mika Sperling, Mathieu Van Assche, David Fathi, Aapo Huhta, Thierry Fournier, and the Museum of Photography in Charleroi.
