NATURE MORTE - Katrien Vanderbiest & Geoffrey Lambert
23 January - 21 February 2027
EN For NATURE MORTE, IMAGINAIR once again creates an installation in which image and subject converge within the space. Observations of nature that has been lost, lead to analogue photographs and to compositions using burned wood, characteristic of Geoffrey’s sculptural work. Just as the tradition of still life creates compositions with natural elements, this new creation depicts nature as if it had been arranged for that image and places elements that refer to both life and death within the space. The viewer recognises elements of that photographic image, though it is unclear whether they led to the image or are a staging of what the image depicts. Transformation as a sequence, still life as a tribute to inanimate nature, as if they were Japanese prints created from woodcuts of a fleeting now.
