FR The Grey Card est une série de superpositions photographiques qui rassemble des éléments issus des archives inattendues de Bartomeu Rebés, ingénieur et homme d’affaires andorran. Pendant près de soixante ans, Rebés a constitué une vaste collection non cataloguée de photographies, de documents, de films, d’outils techniques et d’imprimés. La majeure partie de ce travail a été réalisée pour le plaisir, avec la tendre absence de discernement propre à l’amateur, où les membres de la famille servaient à la fois de sujets et de participants.
En 2025, l’artiste Louis Porter a été invité par les gardiens de ces archives, la Fundació BR, à s’inspirer de ce fonds. Le résultat est une série de montages qui déconstruit l’importance de l’originalité au sein de l’acte créatif.
Chiquita Room présentera la première exposition de cette œuvre hors d’Andorre. L’exposition mettra en avant des œuvres inédites et proposera la présentation d’un livre-œuvre publié par Editorial Andorra en collaboration avec l’artiste.
NL The Grey Card is een reeks fotografische lagen die elementen samenbrengt uit het onbedoelde archief van Bartomeu Rebés, een Andorrese ingenieur en zakenman. Bijna zestig jaar lang verzamelde Rebés een uitgebreide, niet-gecatalogiseerde collectie foto’s, papieren, films, technisch gereedschap en drukwerk. Het grootste deel van dit materiaal werd voor het plezier gemaakt, met de tedere gedachteloosheid van de hobbyist, waarbij familieleden zowel onderwerp als deelnemer waren.
In 2025 werd kunstenaar Louis Porter door de beheerders van het archief, de Fundació BR, gevraagd om op dit archief te reageren. Het resulterende werk is een verzameling montages die het belang van originaliteit binnen de creatieve daad ontmantelt.
Chiquita Room presenteert de eerste tentoonstelling van dit werk buiten Andorra. De tentoonstelling toont nooit eerder geziene werken en een presentatie van een bijbehorend boekwerk, uitgegeven door Editorial Andorra in samenwerking met de kunstenaar.
EN The Grey Card is a series of photographic layerings, bringing together elements of the unintended archive of Bartomeu Rebés, an Andorran engineer and businessman. For almost sixty years Rebés amassed a vast, uncatalogued collection of photographs, papers, films, technical tools and printed matter. The bulk of this material was produced for pleasure, with the tender indiscrimination of the hobbyist and family members serving as both subject and participant.
In 2025, artist Louis Porter was asked to respond to this archive by its custodians, the Fundació BR. The resulting body of work is a collection of montages that disassembles the importance of originality within the creative act.
Chiquita Room presents the first showing of the work outside Andorra. The exhibition features previously unseen works and a presentation of an accompanying bookwork published by Editorial Andorra in collaboration with the artist.
