FR Sophie Langohr et Sine Van Menxel explorent toutes les deux la photographie comme mode de construction. Le travail photographique de Sophie Langohr s’attache à l’étude et l’interprétation d’œuvres du passé qu’elle détourne et subvertit pour les faire parler autrement dans de nouveaux contextes. Dans la pratique de Sine Van Menxel, la photographie analogique apparaît comme un moyen anachronique, utilisé pour trouver d’autres façons de représenter la vie.
Tandis que l’une revisite les images du passé et la construction du sens, l’autre investit l’environnement expérimental de la chambre noire, éprouvant ses limites de manipulation et de reproduction
NL Sophie Langohr en Sine Van Menxel verkennen beiden fotografie als een middel van constructie. Het fotografische werk van Sophie Langohr richt zich op de studie en interpretatie van werken uit het verleden, die zij omzet en subverteert om ze in nieuwe contexten anders te laten spreken. In de praktijk van Sine Van Menxel verschijnt analoge fotografie als een anachronistisch instrument, gebruikt om andere manieren te vinden om het leven weer te geven.
Terwijl de één beelden uit het verleden en de constructie van betekenis herbekijkt, verkent de ander de experimentele omgeving van de donkere kamer en test zij de grenzen van manipulatie en reproductie.
EN Sophie Langohr and Sine Van Menxel both explore photography as a mode of construction. Sophie Langohr’s photographic work focuses on studying and interpreting past works, which she diverts and subverts to give them new meanings in contemporary contexts. In Sine Van Menxel’s practice, analog photography appears as an anachronistic tool, used to explore alternative ways of representing life.
While one revisits images from the past and the construction of meaning, the other engages with the experimental environment of the darkroom, testing its limits of manipulation and reproduction.
