UNE SEULE MONTAGNE offre un aperçu de l’œuvre prolifique du photographe Alexandre Christiaens au cours des dernières décennies.
L'exposition vise à rendre tangibles les couches profondes du travail du photographe à travers le dialogue qui naît lorsqu'il est exposé dans son ensemble.

IMAGINAIR Art/space & gallery, une galerie à vocation pluridisciplinaire, a développé une scénographie inspirée par l’attention du photographe à la matière, aux éléments et aux matériaux naturels, dans laquelle les images photographiques sont soutenues par des éléments spatiaux, créations des artistes/designers avec lesquels la galerie collabore.

Parallèlement, UNE SEULE MONTAGNE offre un aperçu du processus créatif intense qui a présidé à la réalisation du livre du même nom, sur lequel le curateur invité de l'exposition, Bruno Devos, et sa maison d'édition HOPPER&FUCHS, travaillent actuellement en collaboration avec la maison bruxelloise Le Mulet et le photographe.

Tout comme l'exposition est conçue pour offrir un aperçu approfondi du travail et de la pratique photographique d’Alexandre Christiaens, le livre complet rassemble également des images de son œuvre, en dialogue avec les propres écrits du photographe et les réflexions sur son travail de la part de voix pertinentes de son entourage. L’exposition vise également à réfléchir sur la photographie en tant que médium et la place de l’édition dans sa représentation. Une sélection de livres photo édités par HOPPER&FUCHS ssera proposée à la bibliothèque de la galerie.

UNE SEULE MONTAGNE biedt een overzicht van het omvangrijke werk van fotograaf Alexandre Christiaens van de afgelopen decennia.

De tentoonstelling wil de diepe gelaagdheid in het werk van de fotograaf tastbaar maken via de dialoog die ontstaat wanneer het samen wordt getoond.

IMAGINAIR Art/space & gallery, een galerie met een multidisciplinaire focus, ontwikkelde een scenografie geïnspireerd door de focus van de fotograaf op materie, elementen en natuurlijke materialen, waarin de fotografische beelden ondersteund worden door ruimtelijke elementen, creaties van de kunstenaars/designers waar de galerij mee samenwerkt.

Tegelijkertijd biedt UNE SEULE MONTAGNE inzicht in het intensieve creatieproces van het gelijknamige boek, waar gastcurator van de tentoonstelling, Bruno Devos met diens uitgeverij HOPPER&FUCHS, momenteel samen met het Brusselse Le Mulet en met de fotograaf aan werken.

Net zoals de tentoonstelling is opgevat om een overzicht te bieden van Alexandre Christiaens’ fotografische werk en praktijk, zal het boek ook afbeeldingen uit zijn oeuvre samenbrengen, samen met eigen teksten van de fotograaf en reflecties op zijn werk van relevante stemmen uit zijn omgeving. De tentoonstelling nodigt ook uit tot reflectie over fotografie als medium en de rol van publicatie in de representatie ervan. In de bibliotheek van de galerie zal een selectie van fotoboeken uitgegeven door HOPPER&FUCHS te vinden zijn.

UNE SEULE MONTAGNE offers an overview of the prolific work of photographer Alexandre Christiaens over the past decades.
The exhibition aims to make the deep layers in the photographer's work tangible through the dialogue that arises when it is exhibited together.

IMAGINAIR Art/space & gallery, a gallery with a multidisciplinary focus, developed a scenography inspired by the photographer's focus on matter, elements and natural materials, in which the photographic images are supported by spatial elements, creations by the artists/designers with whom the gallery collaborates.

At the same time, UNE SEULE MONTAGNE offers insight into the intensive creative process behind the book of the same name, on which the exhibition's guest curator, Bruno Devos, and his publishing house HOPPER&FUCHS, are currently working together with Brussels-based Le Mulet and the photographer.

Just as the exhibition is conceived to provide an in -depth view of Alexandre Christiaens' photographic work and practice, the book will also bring together images from his oeuvre, along with the photographer's own texts and reflections on his work by relevant voices in his circle. The exhibition also encourages reflection on photography as a medium and the role of publishing in its representation. A selection of photobooks published by HOPPER&FUCHS will be available in the gallery's library.
