ELISEO MICIU

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay. 1985.
Lives and works in Patagonia.

“Trying to understand the same question as Charles Darwin did “ … Why then, and the case is not peculiar to myself, do these arid wastes take so session of the memory ? ”

This is a part of my latest Project, Tierra del Viento (Land of the wind). It is divided into four parts. Rustic, Relentless, Unbridled, and Untamed. In this last chapter I try to discover the unknown and uniquely beautiful landscapes with the forces that sculpted them:  wind, water and fire.

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Uruguay, Eliseo Miciu grew up in the hills of Córdoba, Argentina.  At the age 13, enthralled with the colours and landscapes of Patagonia, he began using photography for conveying life. He worked for national and international companies for more than 10 years in press and advertising photography. In 2007 he created his first book, Salta, Norte Argentino. National Geographic hired Eliseo Miciu as an exclusive photographer for National Geographic Traveler Argentina. He decided to make a personal choice and to devote himself exclusively to photography as a fine art.
He received the Silver International Pano Awards in 2011 and 2012. Leurzer Archive has selected three works of Eliseo for the book of the 200 Best Photos of the world in 2009 and 2010. With his brother Isaías, Eliseo made the book SMA Aldea de Montaña and in 2015 Polvaredal with Marcos Furer.
Since then he has done more than 30 exhibitions in Argentina, Uruguay, USA and France. Today, he shows us his view of southern Patagonia in his latest book Tierra del Viento
